The Daniel Joseph, a classic schooner with a brand-new purpose, was recently acquired by two close friends who partnered for this project. The historic vessel has been refitted not just for sailing, but for restoring, strengthening, and guiding lives. We believe that the open sea has a unique way of clearing away life's noise and we are dedicated to use the unique environment of a sailing ship to make a meaningful difference in the lives of couples, families, and young men. Whether navigating the complexities of relationship growth, building stronger family bonds, or mentoring young men into confident leaders, the Daniel Joseph serves as a floating sanctuary for transformation and discovery.
Our Purpose and Mission
Our aim is to foster awareness and support the development of the personal disciplines necessary for wellbeing, fulfilment and one's ability to pursue happiness. Nothing is more effective at this than engagement in healthy relationships along with the development of a congruent personal philosophy, and the context for developing these capabilities is our family and friendships. Therefore, we believe that the development of all of the above personal capabilities are dependent on the quality of family relationship and that the most effective ways to help individuals thrive is to give them the opportunity to experience these rich relationships.
Our mission is to strengthen families by engaging men in developing the necessary skills and mindset for building and leading healthy families. We believe that the whole family benefits from intentional and effective male leadership, but that we as a society have not sufficiently emphasized the development of these skills. Our programs aim to offset this through fostering learning and mentorship in our men's group and through guidance and support for the next generation of young men. In either case we are focused on helping men of all ages develop into men of substance, who are resilient enough to stand in the face of adversity, who are grateful enough to be humble, grounded enough to serve others, and who will build and lead healthy families in which these values and life -skills get passed on to the next generation.

In her capacity as a cargo schooner, Dan-Joe will support missions abroad, carrying donated supplies to children's homes in the Bahamas.
In her home port, she will be the host ship for the
Savannah Midshipman Academy.
